About Mark

Having the soul of a teacher and a “geek-like” love of all things renovation/construction, home inspection is what I was born to do.

Helping buyers, sellers, investors and Realtors is my joy. Having a corporate background coupled with construction and “re-habbing” experience gives me a mix of skills that gives clients the best of both worlds.

I see it this way – the buyer and their agent have worked hard to finally find a home that works and they are in love with. Now comes along an inspector with no people skills and slaps the client in the face with item after item of issues. No explanations or perspective given. I love my competition! Of course we need to identify all issues present. But it’s how the issues are “presented”.

This philosophy is what The Home Coach is all about!

What it’s like working with Mark

Mark made me look like a rockstar in my client’s eyes. We booked Mark in for a last minute consultation on Saturday late afternoon. He was thorough in his inspection and very professional in educating my client on the mechanics of the house. Very easy going and detailed. Closed the sale right after the inspection. Thanks again Mark.

I could easily tell that Mark has a lot of experience and an exceptional work ethics. When I arrived on time for the inspection, he was already sitting on the roof and had done most of the work that he could do without entering the house. I immediately felt in good hands. I especially like that even a month after inspection, I can still get back to him with questions and he still remembers all relevant details from the inspection.

I recently purchased another much older home in the highly competitive GTA market, and as a result did not have a Home Inspection prior to purchase. I now regret this decision. Water and mold was discovered in the finished basement less than 24 hours after possession. This warranted an emergency call to the Home Coach to help assess the problem and figure out next steps to solve it. Having been involved in multiple bidding wars in the GTA, I understand the temptation to waive a home inspection, but after this frustrating and costly experience I recommend seeking professional help to ensure the largest investment you’ll make as a buyer is a good one.

Mark is a phenomenal home inspector. I’ve been working with Mark and his team for over 5 years now; he’s even done inspection for my own purchase. His attention to detail and knowledge on the technical aspects of properties really help our clients understand what they are purchasing. The other great skill that Mark has, is that he is great with customers. Through his personality, Mark helps clients feel at ease about their concerns. Most buyers are nervous, but Mark has a talent for talking them off the ledge. I would highly recommend Mark and his team for anyone looking for a great Inspector.
